Possibly one of Austria's most underrated ski areas, Schladming lies within the beautiful Dachstein Mountain region, in the southern Austrian province of Styria. Four linked mountains provide the main ski area which includes 123km of piste. The wider Schladming Dachstein region makes it over 180kms, as it also encompasses a number of smaller areas, including the Dachstein Glacier .Schladming hosts many races and championships and recently held the World Ski Championships in 2013, when the resort invested heavily in new ski lifts. With a high proportion of runs rated red, Schladming is ideally suited to intermediates. Much of the skiing is tree-lined, which means visibility is good. The bustling town of Schladming dates back to medieval times, so has plenty of things to see and do
