Crete
Crete is a great destination to immerse yourself in old and new- after all, it is the home of the Minotaur legend! There are plenty of ancient treasures to explore, especially in the island's capital, Heraklion, which has a busy harbour and buzzing bars. Resorts here are geared up for families of all ages. The small resort of Gouves has a lovely sandy beach and water sports. Alternatively, Elafonsi Beach is popular with tourists and locals thanks to its clear, turquoise waters.

Take a boat to the island of Spinalonga and discover its fascinating history as a leper colony as you explore the tiny houses, churches and workshops that still stand today.
Santorini
Known for its lovely architecture and white and blue villages that cling to the cliffside, Santorini is the perfect romantic getaway. Head to the hilltop hideaway, Oia and experience the wonderful sunset across the turquoise Aegean waters before taking dinner in a local taverna and sampling some of the delicious freshly caught seafood. As Santorini is a volcanic island, the sandy beaches here vary in colour from black to burnt orange!

Take in the spectacular views of the caldera by walking 8km along the cliffs from the village of Imerovigli to Oia, arriving at your destination just in time for the world-famous sunset.
Rhodes
Located in the south of Greece is the sunny island of Rhodes. Explore ancient Lindos, including the Lindos Acropolis before moving onto Rhodes Town. Meander along the cobbles streets and stop off to browse in one of the boutiques along the way. Only 3km from Lindos is the lovely resort of Pefkos- a perfect place to enjoy a laid-back break with its pine tree beaches, sandy Blue Flag beaches which are ideal for sunbathing, swimming, and snorkeling. This former fishing and farming village has and enticing selection of bars, cafes and family-run tavernas sure to delight any family.

Parga
Parga is undeniably beautiful and simply oozes charm and tradition. There's a Venetian castle that overlooks the town, and the island's coastline is stunning with lots of blue coves dotted along. The beaches in Valtos and Lichnos have great facilities including water sports. For a spot of retail therapy, head to shops near the harbour and you'll find everything from ouzo, cherry brandy, dried herbs and olive oil to leather goods and homemade jewellery.

Lefkas
South of Parga is the seriously impressive Greek island of Lefkas. With a relaxed vibe, this glorious island is known for its wide bays, unspoilt nature, and powdery white sand. Its beaches and coves are certainly one of the island's big draws and there are so many to choose from. For picture-perfect scenes with crystal-clear waters and soft sands, try Egremni, Agios Nikitas or Kathisma Beach.

Skiathos
Skiathos is a place to come if you're looking for idyllic waters coupled with a lively atmosphere. With more than 60 beaches, you'll find plenty of golden sand to relax on. Lalaria Beach is probably the most photographed on the island thanks to its amazing rock formations on Koukounaries Beach you'll find Caribbean-like scenes of white sand and calm turquoise waters backed by a lush pine forest.

The best way to see Skiathos is from the water. Take a boat trip to Lalaria Beach and the surrounding sea caves, or over to the island of Tsougiras where unspoilt beaches await.
Halkidiki
Halkidiki is a peninsula situated in northern Greece and is known for its cosmopolitan resorts, stunning beaches and beautiful natural landscapes. It's officially Greece's top spot for Blue Flag beaches and with 550km of glorious shoreline, you'll be spoilt for choice. Many have shallow waters making them a great haven for the family. Visit one of Halkidiki's charming villages such as Afitos. This wonderfully traditional clifftop village has a maze of cobbled streets and quaint shops. Take in the spectacular views while enjoying a meal or drink in one of the candle-lit tavernas around the main square.
