It’s coming to the time of year when many of us will start to think about planning in a sun packed family summer holiday.
The trouble with getting away with the kids is making sure you find the right place to go; getting that balance between them having plenty to do and of course you having plenty not to do can be delicate.
As your Personal Travel Agent it is my aim to ensure that you have the very best holiday possible. Which is why I am sharing with you my top tips when thinking about your next family summer holiday!
UK or Overseas
One of the first decisions you need to make is whether you want to stay within the UK or perhaps travel further afield. Whilst the UK has plenty to offer in destinations and a load of places to explore; for those who want guaranteed sunshine and warm weather might want to pack a suitcase and grab their passport.
Budget
Knowing how much you are looking to spend on a holiday will really help you to pick out where you go.
There are plenty of bargains to be had when it comes to holidays and of course just because a holiday has been low cost it doesn’t necessarily mean that it will be low quality.
That said, for those families that want a once in a lifetime holiday, why not plan in to save each and every month so that you can afford to splurge a little more on your break and really enjoy living in luxury.
Beach or city?
Taking in the sights of a city break or laying on the golden sands at the beach? Which one you pick is down to the type of fun your family like to have. Beach holidays do allow for relaxation, however they are usually packed full with water activities, beach games and plenty of ice cream too!
City breaks on the other hand are ideal for those members of your family who love nothing more than going shopping and taking in some culture.
Our recommendation is that beach holidays are ideal for those with younger children and city breaks are best enjoyed when your children are a little older.
Catering options
Holidays abroad often come with 3 choices of catering options; self-catering, half board or all inclusive.
Self-catering is ideal for those with fussy eaters or who want the freedom to keep to their own schedule, eating when and where they choose to. Self catering is also a great choice for those who want to have the facilities on hand such as a cooker, fridge and microwave.
All-inclusive is the choice for families who want to fully relax and allow the hotel to take charge of everything that they need. From drinks right up to ice creams; resorts that offer all inclusive will usually cater to a range of tastes and cuisines.
Half-board is the best of both worlds. Usually offering breakfast and dinner it is down to you to find your own lunch during your break, allowing you the chance to explore outside the resort or cook for yourself.
So there it is, my guide to finding the right family holiday for you. The important thing to remember wherever you go, is that you enjoy some quality time with those most special to you!
