Prague is a beautiful city absolutely packed full of culture, history and wonderful things to do! It is a popular destination for city breaks and romantic getaways alike and with so much to squeeze in to one short holiday you might worry that you will miss something!

That’s why I have put together a guide to 48 hours in Prague, a list of the 5 things that you must see, do or experience to really make the best of your mini European break!

Charles Bridge

Charles Bridge

Standing since 1357, the Charles Bridge is a feat of engineering as well as being one of the most famous tourist hotspots in Prague. During the day you will find artists, musicians and souvenirs a plenty lining both sides of the bridge.

If you are not keen on battling the crowds at this popular sight, then why not take a walk across the bridge at early doors or even better at sunset. That way you can take some breath taking photos without having to cope with hordes of people!

Petrin Hill

If you are taking a family break, then you may want to find a tourist attraction that has something for every member of the family.

Not only does this beautiful area of greenery offer some of the best views of the city but it is also packed full of activities for old and young to enjoy.

For the fitness minded you can take a walk up the rather steep hill, but for the rest of us you can instead opt for the Furnicular (which is a fun thing to do in itself).

Why not take a trip up the Petrin Tower to enjoy the landscape around you or perhaps allow the kids to have some fun in the rather amusing Mirror Maze?

Prague Castle

Prague Castle

For those who are looking to experience some of the rich culture and history of Prague then a trip to the castle is ideal.

Whether you take a short tour around the castle itself or spend the entire day learning about the in depth history of the city, this is a part of the history, architecture and culture of the city that should not be missed.

Prague Zoo

No city break would be completed without a trip to the zoo and thankfully Prague can certainly help with this much loved family activity.

Prague Zoo is one of the most popular zoos in the world and when you pay it a visit you will easily see why. A fantastic variety of animals comes together with a great approach to conservation creating an amazing place to take the family.

Old Town Square

Prague Old Town

Seen as the very heart of Prague, no trip to this beautiful city is complete without a visit to this important cultural hotspot. The Town Hall, a world famous clock and plenty of amazing places to eat, drink and socialise all of these fantastic things come together to create a part of the city that every tourist falls in love with when they visit!
