Part of the Canadian Mountain Parks UNESCO site, the little town of Jasper is a knockout beauty. Check out this deal for 3 weeks!
An all-rounder resort with a great snow record and heaps of après ski activities.
Part of the Canadian Mountain Parks UNESCO site, the little town of Jasper is a knockout beauty. It’s a short bus ride from the Marmot Basin ski area which has plenty of tree-lined cruisers to get you in the groove. And for more of a challenge there’s a variety of steeper runs that are sure to get your heart pumping.
Lining the town are rows of rustic buildings, and when you throw in a thick dusting of snow you really do feel like you’re on a film set. There are around 40 restaurants downtown, so there’s tons to choose from for a bite to eat, and a few friendly bars with live music for a drink and a boogie. It’s pretty common to see wildlife like elk and deer plodding down the street too – so have your camera ready.
For a unique experience head out to the Maligne canyon for a frozen riverbed walk with ice caves, 100ft frozen waterfalls and ice formations all around.
Located on the main street, a little way outside of town, the Marmot Lodge has 107 rooms with exterior entry, as well as a reception. The building has a retro look, and each apartment has its own front door so you don't need to file through reception to get back to your space. And you've got some extra facilities here too. You can take a post-piste dip in the heated indoor pool, or warm yourself all the way through in the sauna. If you're a hot tub fan, you can choose between two – one inside by the pool and the other outside so you can look out at the snowy scenery while you soak.
When the evening rolls around, pop into Evil Dave's Grill next door, a family-run restaurant serving local dishes with an impressive cocktail list. Or if you fancy a change, you can also dine at one of the nearby sister hotels – the Crimson Lodge or the Lobstick Lodge. Plus, there's also a coffee house here, perfect for your morning caffeine fix or a post-ski hot choc.
Price based on 2 adults sharing. Includes hold luggage and resort transfers. Free ski carriage.
