Fast becoming one of the most exciting ski resorts in the Alps, Livigno is making a big name for itself being one of the venues for the 2026 Olympics and it’s easy to see why.
Not far from the Swiss border, this snow sure resort has an extensive, modern ski area whilst retaining the traditional character of its original three villages.
The town itself sits in the valley where either side of you, the mountains rise up creating two separate ski areas, all linked by the efficient and free local buses circulating the resort. The unique layout means there are dedicated areas and lifts for beginners straight from resort level, while more experienced skiers and boarders can head to the top and enjoy a huge range of on and off-piste in the area as well as fun parks, boarder cross tracks and for those looking for some serious fun, head to the Mottolino snowpark which has hosted many international freestyle competitions.
Al Gal Apartments are a great choice for those looking for comfortable self-catering accommodation in a central location. The apartments have been fully renovated in recent years and have a cosy, traditional alpine feel to them. The apartments are a short walk away from the start of the pedestrianised streets of Livigno and only 300 metres from the Cassana ski lift. There's lots of great cafés a short walk away so you can grab some breakfast before hitting the slopes. You're in a prime location to try out the town's restaurants for dinner too. There is something to suit all budgets in Livigno or, if you'd rather have a night in, grab some food from the nearby supermarket and whip up tasty meals from the comfort of your own apartment.
