The area serves up everything from pretty, tree-lined trails to high, wide-open pistes – and you can even ski two countries in one trip by visiting the linked resort of Montgenèvre in France.
Traditional and packed with character, the centre of town is filled with cobbled streets and old buildings roofed with giant stone slabs.
