Set on the banks of a river, Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside brings a taste of slower-paced Louisiana to the Sunshine State.
The Riverside half of Disney’s Port Orleans Resort takes inspiration from Deep South. It’s set beside a river, so it really makes you feel as though you’re in the wetlands of America’s Pelican State.
The main building looks like a steamboat ticket station, with a grand interior that evokes the 19th century. The rooms, meanwhile, are styled up as old-fashioned white-columned mansions, and rural backwater apartments. Bedrooms feature artwork from The Princess and the Frog, set in 1920s Louisiana.
The hotel’s main pool is set on an island, and has a waterslide, a hot tub, and a neighbouring bar. There are five more pools flecked throughout the complex. Activities-wise, fishing and horse-drawn cart rides are on the cards, and there’s a playground and a games arcade. Six mini-eateries make up the food court, and there’s a restaurant serving New Orleans cuisine.
