Turkeys Turquoise Coast. This part of Turkey has uncrowded beaches, mud baths, ancient historical sites, and great Hotels or Villas for you to base yourself at. From simple B&B’s to 5* luxury palaces the choice is vast and great value. Some resorts are very popular such as Olu Deniz with its famous Blue lagoon or bustling Marmaris with its busy harbour. Icmeler has a lovely beach and is a favourite with Couples and Families. Quieter resorts include Kas and Kalkan – an old fishing town with white house’s tumbling down the hill into the Sea – and if it reminds you of Greece that’s because it was mainly inhabited by Greeks until the 1920’s. Its long promenade is brimming with chic bars and seafood restaurants and has an upmarket feel. Near to here try the Bodamye Tepe trout farm family restaurant in Islamlar, avillage in the mountains behind Kalkan, and combine with a visit to the un commercial and incredibly beautiful Patara Beach Dalyan-just 40 mins from Dalaman, is on the river, take the wonderful 40mins boat trip through the bullrushes to the beach, at which far end turtles nest. Across river from resort (you get taken across by little man in little rowing boat, then 20 min walk to ancient city of Kaunos - well worth a visit!

The Olive Garden in Kabak - www.olivegardenkabak.com is the perfect chill out day - get the dolmus from Olu Deniz to Kabak (half hour or so) - its literally just a small hotel with an infinity pool – they do fantastic Turkish food and it’s very good value. Stunning views and no entrance charge (You just buy drinks and food as needed) it really is Paradise If you have the time Ephesus & Pamukkale is a once in a lifetime experience. On the first day you will visit the beautiful ancient city of Ephesus, with its early temples & ancient public library. On the second day, you'll have the opportunity to swim in Cleopatra's Pool and a chance to see the Eighth Wonder of the Natural World – Pamukkale. Springing in a cliff almost 200 m high overlooking the plain, calcite-laden waters have created at Pamukkale (Cotton Palace) an unreal landscape of water pools surrounded by a chalky petrified rock.
