Set high above the picturesque Upper Tarentaise valley, La Rosière is a pleasant, compact resort in a sunny setting with superb panoramic views. Big enough to have all the facilities any skier could wish for, it is also small enough to be known as one of the Alps’ friendliest resorts. The village is attractive with buildings mainly in traditional wood and stone. The wide open slopes are snow-sure with the main lifts and pistes all radiating out directly from the resort centre, with simply sensational views across the valley to Les Arcs. There are some great beginner slopes plus a mix of decent blue runs and cruisy reds to tougher blacks on the La Thuile side where there are some renowned off-piste areas. A great family resort for all grades of skier at an affordable price.
