Les Arcs is a wonderful, modern resort filled with an astonishing variety of skiing. Les Arcs comprises 4 self-contained villages at different heights: Arc 1800 is the largest village, with a lively atmosphere, good selection of shops and restaurants plus excellent access to the skiing. Arc 1600 is the lowest and has a proper village atmosphere. Arc 1950 is the new stunning village built in a traditional style with many luxury accommodations and Arc 2000 is popular with experienced skiers, with skiing to and from the doorstep, near the magnificent Aiguille Rouge glacier. Nearby Peisey-Vallandry is closest to la Plagne so has quick access to the whole ski area. Now linked to La Plagne, the "Paradiski" area offers a massive 425 kms of pistes and has a good snow record. There are great runs through the forests, providing wonderful skiing at all levels, which is superb for all grades of skier or boarder.

Arc 1800 has the best choice with around 15 restaurants and a guide is available locally. 1600 also has some excellent establishents. 1950 has a reasonable choice for a small place but they tend to get busy. 2000 has the usual top nosh place plus the stan
