Tignes has some of the most breathtaking views in the Alps and is quite possibly the most snowsure resort in Europe. It also happens to have some of the most exciting and challenging terrain in the world. It is part of the vast 300km Espace Killy area and it is just a quick drop over the hill into neighbouring Val D’Isère. The area is a haven for intermediate and advanced skiers but not bad for early improvers as well. The resort comprises 3 main villages, all interlinked by a 24 hour free bus service. Firstly, Val Claret, the highest part of the resort offers the best access to the skiing, being at the foot of the glacier and it has a number of shops, restaurants and bistros. Le Lavachet is best placed to ski to Val d'Isère and offers a variety of cafés/restaurants. Finally, Tignes Le Lac is a more busy village with a twice weekly market, shops, bars, restaurants and an ultra-modern sports centre.

There are more than 20 restaurants with menus to suit every palate and budget in Le Lac and Val Claret. Options in Le Lavachet are more limited but there are a few good places.
