Kuhtai is the highest resort in Austria, perched high on a mountain pass at 2020m between the Otztal and the Stubai mountains, just 22 miles from Innsbruck. It is a snow sure resort and most of the hotels are ski to the door, with the added bonus that all the lifts are virtually queue-free, With its easy, wide, above-the-treeline snowsure slopes, the ski area is ideal for families and intermediates, although there are a few more challenging sections. Prices in the resort represent good value compared to many Austrian resorts. So with its breathtaking scenery, glorious snow sure pistes, wonderful doorstep skiing and short transfer time, it's one of Austria's best kept secrets. With the addition of the Hochotz ski area a further 41km of pistes and 11 lifts are available to Kuhai lift pass holders (a free 15 minute ski bus ride connects the two resorts).
