Perched at 1800m the village of St Christoph sits just 6km from St Anton, offering a peaceful mountain home for those who want the skiing without the hustle and bustle. One of the highest ski resorts in the Alps, St Christoph is actually 500m above St Anton and has direct access to the enormous Arlberg ski area. Brand new in Winter 16/17 were four lifts which link St Christoph and St Anton to Lech and Zürs, to make the Arlberg the largest linked ski area in Austria. It is an old settlement that is now a small collection of smart hotels, restaurants and bars, popular with families and couples. There are decent beginner slopes here but the area is perfectly suited to intermediate and advanced skiers. Evenings are usually spent relaxing in rustic lounges, sipping a glass of wine. If you fancy a wilder night out head to nearby St Anton, which is world-famous for having one of the best après scenes in Europe.
